Tiger Lanterns for a Roaring New Year |
Tired of store-bought plastic decorations that make your home look like everyone elses'? Need to keep the kids occupied while you do final preparations for the Chinese New Year?
Now you can make your own festive paper lanterns in 5 easy steps. Get the kids to decorate them with stripes, poker dots, glitter gel etc. and hang them around the house for a unique festive touch. Have fun 
You will need: rectangular pieces of colourful paper or thin plastic sheets a sharp pair of scissors glue, sticky tape or a stapler
1. Fold a rectangular piece of paper in half.
2. With a scissors, make a row of upward cuts from the folded edge. Don't cut all the way to the edge of the paper.
3. Unfold the paper. Put the short edges of the paper together and glue, tape or staple them.
4. Cut a narrow strip of paper and glue, tape or staple this to two sides of the lantern to make the handle.
5. Decorate your lantern any way you like and you're ready to hang them!
