Have your cake and eat it too!

Alphabake_1Kids love sweet treats, and they love getting their hands ‘dirty’. Add these and voila! You have the offer_promoimageperfect mix for hands-on experiential learning for children of all ages.

And why not throw in a dash of drama and a mix of maths into the mix? The possibilities are endless – theme-based baking incorporating story-telling and dramatization, and the subtle incidental learning of mathematical concepts. You don’t have to force Junior into learning Maths this way, they’ll gladly have their Maths and 'eat it' too!

AlphaBake began when two mothers were trying to fill up their pre-schoolers' holiday activity calendar. With their love for baking, they realised that baking provides an excellent avenue for hands-on experiential learning. They experimented with their two active pre-schoolers who enjoyed getting their hand in the dough and equipped with icings and sprinkles, seeing it transformed into edible works of art.

At Alphabake, baking serves as a brilliant platform for play-based experiential learning, which provides plenty of benefits. Depending on the age-group, baking, among others:

  • nurtures creativity
  • enhances hands-on learning through the understanding and being part of the baking process
  • enhances reading skills by encouraging children to read our simple instructions.
  • exercises math skills through the measuring of ingredients.
  • teaches sharing and taking turns in using resources
  • boosts self confidence and pride in a job well done
  • provides ample opportunities to work on young children’s fine motor skills.
  • is a great family bonding activity where the sweet taste of treats baked with love and quality time spent together will linger long after the last crumb.

So why not let the kids take over the kitchen this June holidays?  Sign them up now for Alphabake_2AlphaBake baking workshops and you don’t have to worry about the mess!
